CalcBook accelerates the daily workflow of structural engineers by enabling them to quickly and easily create structural calculations, verify code compliance, and generate professional-quality calculation books.
 

Founded in 2020, CalcBook evolved from a Visual Basic prototype to a senior project for computer science students at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, before becoming a refined, industry-grade software solution.

CalcBook was created by Peter Jacobs and Nick Treadaway, both registered California Professional Engineers with over 25 years of combined structural design experience. They founded CalcBook in response to the cumbersome, outdated process of manual calculations and the lack of transparent industry software, with the goal of creating a faster, simpler, and more accurate way to create structural engineering calculations.
