Point Load on Flange
Examine beam flanges for point loads arising from bracing attachments or other isolated loading scenarios.
Verify the strength of beam flanges when loaded with a beam flange clamp or other point load configuration. CalcBook provides users with the option to assess the bottom flange using either the Yield Line Theory (Plastic Method) or as a simple cantilever (Elastic Method). Specify the load location, flange thickness, and applied loading, and CalcBook will verify the adequacy of the flange thickness.
